The Great Falls Center
What is The Great Falls Center?
The Great Falls Center is a historic property in the heart of Paterson. Following the guiding vision of Herbert Van Denend, we have partnered with Dawn Treader Christian School to transform this 40,000 sq. ft. building into a thriving community center that will impact Paterson for generations to come.
The building will be centered on vocational training, housing our current Workmanship Program, a commercial kitchen for culinary training and an auditorium for training around arts, media and tech. In addition the center will feature a food hall and restaurant with rooftop dining.
What’s our role?
As co-collaborators with Dawn Treader Christian School, Servant’s Heart is invested in the development of the vision and mission of what will be The Great Falls Center. Our team has taken on the management of all construction of 39 McBride Avenue, utilizing our volunteers as with our other community renovation projects, as well as fundraising for the project and managing the facility in the interim.
Upon completion of 39 McBride Avenue, The Great Falls Center will be set up as a separate non-profit organization which will be operated by its own staff. Our Workmanship Program will continue to operate in the building, and Servant’s Heart Ministry will retain some kind of ownership.
