WORKMANSHIP PROGRAM
Courses
Our Workmanship Program runs 5 different courses across 3 locations with the following objectives.
EXPOSURE:
Educate students on the labor, demands, and career potential of each trade
TOOLS & SKILLS:
Equip students with the tools and skills needed to pursue an apprenticeship
EXPERIENCE:
Provide students with diverse hands-on work experience in each trade
MENTORSHIP:
Mentor students as they decide which career they’d like to pursue
Class Structure
CHECK-IN
Students arrive, check-in, and work on their "jobsite' project until class starts.
INTRODUCTION - CORE VALUES
A team member introduces the class' lesson and core value, and quizzes the students with a question from the previous lesson to which the student who answers correctly wins $1.
CLASSROOM - "SHOW & TELL"
In the first hour, the instructor teaches through the lesson, while teaching assistants demonstrate behind.
DINNER BREAK
Students are given a break to eat dinner, which is provided by volunteers, and socialize with other students and teachers.
JOBSITE - "HANDS-ON"
Students practice what they learned in the classroom, as they work individually and in groups on hands-on projects.
