Rooftop Dining Overlooking Paterson’s Great Falls? Here’s the Proposal

PATERSON, NJ — Servant’s Heart Ministry, the Wyckoff-based nonprofit that provides training in the construction trades, has proposed opening a food hall and rooftop garden with outdoor dining at an industrial building directly across from the Great Falls overlook area.

Mayor Andre Sayegh has championed the project as part of his effort to turn the Great Falls into a true tourist destination — a place where visitors linger, dine, and spend time, rather than simply stopping for a few minutes to view the waterfall.

Servant’s Heart Ministry, which already owns the building, outlined a vision spanning every floor. Under the proposal, the first floor would be converted into a food hall; the second floor would provide an auditorium for community groups, arts activities, and church services; the third floor would house a restaurant and offices; and a new rooftop area would feature a garden with outdoor dining overlooking the falls.

The plan laid the groundwork for what would become The Great Falls Center — pairing Servant’s Heart Ministry’s trades-training mission with a community gathering place in the heart of Paterson.
