NEW JERSEY — Christina Mendez, Servant’s Heart Ministry’s Director of Marketing and Operations, shared her story on the An Army of Normal Folks podcast — and with it, the work of Servant’s Heart Ministry.

While working as a fashion designer, Christina found herself the only woman volunteering alongside an army of tradesmen to renovate buildings for nonprofits — and she loved it. What began as volunteering turned into a calling she never expected, leading her into the trades and into a central role with Servant’s Heart Ministry’s Workmanship Program.

Her conversation offers a personal window into the heart of the ministry: ordinary people using their skills to renovate spaces, train the next generation in the trades, and strengthen under-resourced communities across New Jersey.

This feature aired on the An Army of Normal Folks podcast.
